• This course addresses statistical methods as used in quality analysis; modeling process

and product quality. Evaluation, analysis, and installation of the various procedures that comprise total quality control systems. Market research, product design, manufacturing planning, purchasing, production and delivery are topics that are covered along with data analysis, quality improvement, quality design, and vendor relations. In-depth coverage of quality costs, control charts, and process capability, with use of quality control software.

  • Many industrial and scientific experiments are carried out in order to compare two or

more experimental treatments. In an industrial context, this may represent different

operating conditions for a piece of machinery, for example. In this course, students consider how to design experiments to obtain as much information as possible for a fixed amount of effort, and how to analyze the results of the experiments.

  • This course focuses on the management culture, philosophy, practices, and processes necessary to develop a total quality orientation. The course bridges quantitative, behavioral, and strategic concepts for designing organizations to be dynamic, integrated systems whose outputs are monitored for quality and continuously improved.

  • This course is an in-depth review of planned and systematic actions necessary to provide adequate confidence that a product or service will satisfy given quality requirements. The course will provide a foundation and knowledge about quality assurance and management. Current methodologies such as Six Sigma, TQM, Lean Manufacturing and Value Engineering will be discussed.

  • The management of production systems has increasingly become complex because of the continuous advancement in information technology, process technology, globalization of

the market and operations and interrelationships with the supply-demand chain. This

course presents the principles of contemporary production control concepts and

technologies that are used by world-class enterprises. The emphasis of the course will be

on managerial skills as a professional running an organization, the analysis that is completed, and implementation of production management policies and strategy.
